The NZCYES was established by the PSNZ in 2004, in response to the perceived need for a single national entity to select, collate and disseminate timely and accurate information on the health of tamariki and rangatahi in Aotearoa New Zealand.
The NZCYES's annual reports provide up-to-date and accurate information about the health of children and young people, and highlight disparities and cases where inequities in service provision mean that tamariki are not reaching their full potential. The reports contribute to the evidence base for policy development in child and youth health, and allow the NZCYES to share its expertise with other researchers interested in improving the wellbeing of children and young people.
