New! Diabetes in schools resources now available

The National Clinical Network for Children and Young People with Diabetes has released new school action and management plans to support tamariki and rangatahi with type 2 diabetes. These resources provide clear guidance for schools to help ensure a safe and supportive environment for students managing diabetes, whether they require insulin or other medications.

New resources available

The following new documents have been added:

  • Action Plan - Type 2 Diabetes (Insulin)
  • Action Plan - Type 2 Diabetes (Medication, not insulin)
  • Management Plan - Type 2 Diabetes (Insulin)
  • Management Plan - Type 2 Diabetes (Medication, not insulin)

Additionally, all existing Diabetes in Schools action and management plans were updated at the end of 2024 to ensure they are current for 2025.
