Neurodevelopment Network - Lunch & Learn NZ Series

Implications to practice:
Helping young people to thrive through rugby

12pm - 12.30pm  |  Tuesday 14 May, 2024  |  Hosted on Zoom

Facilitator: Donna Smith
Guest Speaker: Erin Rayner

In this session, Donna Smith will facilitate small group discussions on the implications of last month’s L&L with Erin Rayner on Helping young people to thrive through rugby. The previous L&L with Erin showcased Sense Rugby which is an Occupational Therapy led rugby programme designed to help tamariki and rangatahi who usually find it difficult to be part of a sports team.

To enhance learning and active participation in the knowledge translation session we invite you to watch the recording of last month’s session.

Three questions to think about ahead of the Knowledge Translation session, which we will collaboratively discuss are:

  1. What are your top two takeaways from last months (recorded) session?
  2. What is one action that you can take away from the session to implement in your practice/role, or to support the community in which you work with?
  3. How do we come together to support our young people to have greater access to a diverse range of opportunities in the sport and active recreation space (especially due to the positive impacts we know this has on overall health and wellbeing)?
